The Lord is a God of order, He is order Himself, after the holy order of the Son, and abides by Divine laws of order. He therefore cannot act contrary to these laws, for do to so, He would have to act contrary to Himself. All things are possible when we act according to these laws. God is then able to guide, bless, comfort, and protect, and we can plainly see Him in our lives, bowing in humble gratitude for His bounties.
He sometimes, however, according to mercy and grace, will grant us certain blessings, we feel we haven’t deserved. Yet when we find ourselves acting contrary to these laws, and commandments, it is then that we find ourselves in the state of stress, anxiety, discouragement, fear and helplessness.
At times we are not even willing let alone ready to receive what God could and wants to bless us with, for we go our own way, wanting to lead ourselves, therefore we act contrary to His laws and standards. We then somewhat expect some magical results of peace, order, joy or happiness in our lives. Yet we reason, my situation is different, special, and requires a different course or plan. We say “I can’t! You don’t understand! There are reasons why I can’t,” or should we say won’t. We do have a choice between our way and Gods way.
We are all the children of God and have accepted His plan, and most of us are trying the best we can, yet we can stumble and fall at times. Sometimes it is just a few little things, that need adjusting, to get us back on the strait path, so that we can feel better about ourselves. We then are able to receive the blessing we desire.
If there is a major problem, we need to repent and become free of the shackles that bind. The members of the church are wonderful people full of hope and wanting to serve one another. They are the salt of the earth, yet let us be careful not loose our savor wherewith we lose the light given. May God bless all of us for our commitment to His Gospel and to each other.
D&C 130: 20 – 21
“There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated — And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated. ”D&C 103: 9 – 10
“For they were set to be a light unto the world, and to be the saviors of men; And inasmuch as they are not the saviors of men, they are as salt that has lost its savor, and is thenceforth good for nothing but to be cast outland trodden under foot of men.”Alma 13: 6 – 9
“And thus being called by this holy calling, and ordained unto the high priesthood of the holy order of God, to teach his commandments unto the children of men, that they also might enter into his rest — This high priesthood being after the order of his Son, which order was from the foundation of the world; or in other words, being without beginning of days or end of years, being prepared from eternity to all eternity, according to his foreknowledge of all things– Now they were ordained after this manner — being called with a holy calling, and ordained with a holy ordinance, and taking upon them the high priesthood of the holy order, which calling, and ordinance, and high priesthood, is without beginning or end — Thus they become high priests forever, after the order of the Son, the Only Begotten of the Father, who is without beginning of days or end of years, who is full of grace, equity, and truth. And thus it is. Amen.”Alma 13: 16
“Now these ordinances were given after this manner, that thereby the people might look forward on the Son of God, it being a type of his order, or it being his order, and this that they might look forward to him for a remission of their sins, that they might enter into the rest of the Lord.”
