Following the chaos caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Syrdarya flood, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has reached out to the Republic of Uzbekistan to offer relief.
In a tweet posted by Javlon Vakhabov, the ambassador representing Uzbekistan in the United States, the Church partnered with Project Hope, ADRA International, and Globus Relief, to donate PPE’s, medical equipment, and other necessary commodities needed to fight against the pandemic and the flood.

The Church retweeted the ambassador’s tweet and replied, “the prayers of leaders and members of the Church are with the people of Uzbekistan and others in need around the globe.”

The country currently has 3,333 cases and 14 deaths. The Church continues to donate medical equipment to health care workers around the world using the Church’s Beehive Clothing facilities in five different countries.
