Elder Ian Bate along with other missionaries serving in the California Santa Rosa Mission made their own rendition of the song ‘You Will be Found’ from the play ‘Dear Evan Hansen’. The video was shared several times on different social media platforms and had received tremendous positive feedback from both members and non-members of the Church.
The video started with Elder Bate asking the question “have you ever felt that nobody was there?”. According to our interview with him, he struggled a lot growing up and the song had helped him found hope and encouragement from all the things he had to go through.
“There have been times in my life where I can say I was truly lost, times when I struggled to see God’s love for me,” Elder Bate said. “I know in these feelings I am not alone. That is why I and so many others love a certain song from the play, ‘Dear Evan Hansen'”.
His love for music and dedication to uplift others made it possible for him to make this beautiful rendition.
“In that song there is a promise that no matter who or where you are, you will be found. I know I have found incredible comfort in these words,” he said. “That is why my fellow missionaries, myself, and some incredibly talented members of the church came together to perform our own rendition of the song ‘You will be Found’. We want everyone, everywhere who could maybe use this message to have the chance to hear that they are loved.”
