Auditions for 2023 Nauvoo & British Pageants

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking professional-quality actors to fill 21 core cast roles in the summer 2023 Nauvoo and British Pageants. The pageants will be performed outdoors on alternating nights in Nauvoo. The core cast will perform both shows. Men’s and women’s roles range in age from early 20s to mid-60s.

In performance, rehearsals, and daily interactions, core cast members will have opportunities to teach the gospel and testify of the Savior Jesus Christ and His Church. The rigorous nature of this work requires that core cast members be experienced, faithful Latter-day Saint performers demonstrating a high degree of emotional maturity, flexibility, and willingness to work long hours. Good physical health is essential. Once cast, candidates must also receive their bishop’s recommendation.

There are 2 parts to this audition process. A recorded vocal audition can be submitted through the digital audition form prior to your acting audition. The acting audition will be conducted live via Zoom.

To Audition

STEP 1: CREATE A NEW CHURCH CASTING TALENT PROFILE
Please create a Church Casting Talent Profile by filling out THIS FORM. If you have already created a New Casting Talent Profile you may skip to Step 3.

STEP 2: VERIFY YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS
Check your email inbox (or spam/junk folders) after creating your talent profile to verify your account and discover your Talent ID.

STEP 3: RECORD YOUR AUDITION
Please, film yourself singing 16 bars of a musical theater ballad or similar style that shows your vocal range and ability. Upload your video to a video-sharing service (such as YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox, etc.) and copy/paste the link into the digital audition form below. Please be sure your video link is unlisted or public as many people on the creative team will require access. Most pageant roles do not require singing. However, core cast members with musical talent may be featured in community appearances and civic functions.

STEP 4: SIGN UP FOR AN AUDITION TIME AND SUBMIT YOUR VOCAL AUDITION
Please visit OUR AUDITION SCHEDULER to sign up for an audition time and submit your vocal audition before 11:59 PM on Thursday, January 19th. Auditions will be held on January 20th from 6-10 PM and January 21st from 9-5 PM. The material to prepare for the acting portion of the audition can be found HERE. We ask that you have it available on a separate electronic device or print it out so you can refer to it during the audition. There is no need to be memorized, but it can be helpful to be familiar enough so that you’re prepared to read for any role.

Callbacks will be held in person by invitation on January 27th and 28th at the Bountiful Regional Center. Final casting will be announced around the first week of March.

· Performances: July 11- Aug 5, 2023

For core cast members, the pageant will cover transportation to and from Nauvoo and will provide housing and meals while in Nauvoo. Due to the length of the pageant run, core cast members will also receive a modest honorarium.
