A thief that comes into a house and steals, in the spiritual sense desires to take away from another, ones testimony, yea, the goods of charity and the truths of faith, or the knowledges of them, signifying the things of the gospel.
It also represents that these things should not be attributed to self, but to God from whence they came. Tithing is one thing, by not paying, we attribute to ourselves, and claim the money for self, as oppose to giving it to the rightful owner, who is our Lord God.
