The ability to confirm what ever one pleases through reasons and reasonings is not an indication of understanding nor intelligence for anyone can do it ever the worst of us. These are blind guides leading the blind. Seeing they do not see, hearing they to not hear, and take pleasure in those that choose to listen, and are persuaded and then follow. The quality of most of these are such that they can be persuaded either way and are like drift woof floating, being tossed to and fro wherever the winds of doctrine may take them. They are in the bonds of captivity not having any conviction or testimony of their own, they look for the easy or painless path not wanting to pay the price of stretching and exercising their spiritual man.

But the ability to be rational and to see clearly, having a sharpness of judgement is to know that truth is truth and that falsehood is falsehood and then to confirm it. This is the genuine indication of understanding and intelligence leading to wisdom. To force the mind or understanding into agreement with ones own selfish will and appetites will promote reasoning galore, whereby man is insane in comparison to the intelligence of God and will be forever learning, yet never ever coming to the knowledge of truths.

1Cor. 1:25  – 29 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men;band the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chose the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.

Helman 13:29  O ye wicked and ye perverse generation; ye hardened and ye stiffnecked people, how long will ye suppose that the Lord will suffer you? Yea, how long will ye suffer yourselves to be led by foolish and blind guides? Yea, how long will ye choose darkness rather than light?

1Cor. 2:13 – 16 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that hemay instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
