Summary

Our progression from the lonely wilderness to the high and holy mountain
Sometimes we find ourselves wandering in the wilderness being sorely afflicted, feeling lost, forgotten, and unimportant, alone and even desperate. We sometimes find ourselves spiritually crawling on our hands and knees pleading for Gods help, aid and comfort. We have a wanting of the Lord’s assurance of His love and care that His eyes are continually upon us. We starve, hunger, and thirst for spiritual food, the goods of love and the truths of faith of the gospel. We are also sorely tempted and struggle sometimes in darkness with the challenges of life yet knowing that these temptations temper us, giving us experience, strength, knowledge, intelligence and wisdom and building a solid foundation thereby becoming firmly rooted and grounded in the Gospel of Christ.
We then are led by the Good Shepherd to the green pastures by the still clean waters and are as lambs, and sheep ready to follow and learn; to be instructed by our Master. We drink of the clean waters, the goods and truths of faith, being uplifted and edified, gaining strength and nourishment to walk the straight and narrow path that leads to a vivified life.
We are then led to the high and holy mountain where the climb is grievous, arduous, even hard to bare, overcoming trials and struggles and conquering all enemies and foes, knowing that we are being molded and polished for our mansions on high. Finally we reach and arrive at the peek, the top of this holy mountain, where love, joy of the heart, and gladness of the mind are found. We find peace, or quietness of mind, and rest, rest from temptations and certain cares of this world. We find Zion, where the pure in heart tarry, and dwell. And above all we find our Lord and Master as we continue to worship Him, to become of his image and of His likeness, as we sanctify and yield our beating hearts unto our God and our Lord, our Savior and our Redeemer. Amen.

Helaman 3: 35 “Nevertheless they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God.”
