Church Confirms That All Missionaries Serving In Italy Are Safe After A Massive Earthquake In Italy

Early Wednesday morning The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a statement regarding the said manner. The following statements are translated from Italian to English:

Translated Statement:
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints expresses great sorrow for all those who have been affected by the terrible tragedy of the earthquake that devastated Accumoli and Amatrice in the province of Rieti in Lazio and all the surrounding areas.

All missionaries and Church members are alive and well.

As they continue the search for those trapped in the rubble, we invite everyone to pray for those who are suffering, for those without news of their loved ones, for those who are injured, for those who are still under the rubble.

The Church has already offered its assistance to the relevant authorities and the members will be asked to contribute in various ways. All information about come through priesthood leaders and official channels of the Church.

Italian officials are reporting at least 73 dead and 150 more missing at this time.

La Chiesa di Gesù Cristo dei Santi degli Ultimi Giorni esprime grande cordoglio per tutti coloro che sono stati colpiti dalla terribile tragedia del terremoto che ha sconvolto Accumoli e Amatrice in provincia di Rieti nel Lazio e tutte le zone circostanti.
